Obituary: Derek Stirling

New Zealand fast-bowler Derek Stirling has died in Hastings aged 62. BLACKCAP No.154, Stirling played six Tests and six ODIs between 1984 and 1986, and is best remembered for a strong tour of Pakistan, in which he toiled on unhelpful pitches and took four for 88 at Karachi.

Sears added to Bangladesh ODI Squad as cover for Jamieson

Ben Sears is to join the BLACKCAPS ODI Squad in Dunedin as cover for Kyle Jamieson, who experienced stiffness in his left hamstring after travelling back from Bangladesh. The Test squad returned to New Zealand on Tuesday evening and Jamieson then flew on to Dunedin on Thursday

Vincent life ban relaxed

New Zealand Cricket has joined with the New Zealand Cricket Players Association in welcoming a relaxation of the life ban imposed on former international Lou Vincent.      In a ruling just announced, the England & Wales Cricket Board’s disciplinary arm has agreed to revise the penalties imposed on Vincent in 2014 so that he can participate and be involved in cricket matches at, or below domestic level
