The third of NZC’s four age-group Nationals for 2025/26 gets underway this Tuesday at NZC’s high performance complex in Lincoln.
The first two trophies have been locked away — Auckland claiming the men’s Under-19 trophy early last month after a strong challenge from Northern Districts, and Wellington claiming the women’s Under-19 silverware yesterday, dropping only one of their eight matches en route.

Auckland and Northern Districts again came away with a top three finish and now all eyes are on whether the next generation behind them can emulate their success.
Or will it be Otago, Central Districts or Canterbury’s turn in the limelight?
The tournament runs from 10am tomorrow (Tuesday 13 January) beginning with two-day match fixtures before a series of white-ball games that conclude a week later, on Tuesday 20 January,
The age-group season will then finish with the first ever edition of the NZC women’s Under-17 national tournament at the same venue.

Later this month, Lloyd Elsmore Park in Auckland will play host to the fourth edition of the Rangatahi Cricket Festival which evolved last summer to include South Asian sides.
The Rangatahi Cricket Festival launched in 2022 and provides a platform for Māori, Pasifika and now South Asian youth cricketers to test their skills and express their culture.
NZC will also continue to deliver the Māori National Tournaments (Tāne & Wāhine Tournaments) every two years, with the next ones planned for the 2026/27 season.
