An exciting group of emerging players will assemble in Lincoln today as the National U19 Women’s Tournament gets underway.
The 2025–26 edition brings together an impressive crop of players, featuring New Zealand U19 representatives, Māori Schoolgirls alumni, standout First XI Cup performers and a few players with women’s domestic experience.
Auckland, champions in the past two seasons, again present a strong squad led by Auckland Hearts representatives Rishika Jaswal, Eve Meachen, and Ayaan Lambat.
Northern Districts boast a strong core led by Māori Schoolgirls representatives Jess Benge, Dayle Anderson, and Olivia Ross, while First XI Cup standout Miah Smith adds firepower and raw pace to their bowling attack.
Central Districts feature a promising mix highlighted by Māori Schoolgirls representative Aria Cameron, alongside Maggie Rate and Penny Lovegrove, who bring championship-winning form from this year’s First XI Cup.
Wellington’s campaign is anchored by Tawa College stars Greta Abbott, Lily Campbell, and Ava Conroy, complemented by experience from Isla McKenzie and Emma Parker, who have already earned caps with the Wellington Blaze.
Canterbury enter with real star power through Girls First XI Cup MVP Ciara Hartland, supported by domestic Magicians representatives Kate Chandler and Stella Cornelius.
Otago will have the Māori Schoolgirls trio of Georgie McEwan, Brooke Huddleston, and Mollie Drumm, backed by Anika Todd, an Otago Sparks representative who has impressed at previous national tournaments.
