Canterbury has been deducted one point from the first round of the 2025/26 Plunket Shield, against Northern Districts in Rangiora last week.
Canterbury was initially credited with 17 points for their outright win against ND, but has been debited one point for a slow over rate.
NZC's online Points Table has been adjusted to reflect the one-point penalty for failing to meet the minimum over rate requirement of 15 overs per hour throughout the match.
Canterbury, now on 16 points, remains in third place on the table, behind the Auckland Aces and Otago who each took the full 20 points from their opening round victories.
Plunket Shield points after Round One
- Auckland Aces 20
- Otago 20
- Canterbury 16 (includes 1 point deduction for slow over rate)
- Northern Districts 5
- Central Stags 4
- Wellington Firebirds 4
