Zimbabwe's entire squad of 35 players has officially refused to play any cricket under the banner of its national body due to an accumulation of unpaid match fees and salaries.
A letter delivered to Zimbabwe Cricket's office stipulated that no contracted player would remain available for any kind of cricket other than club cricket.
"Zimbabwe Cricket has really had it now," players' representative Clive Field told Agence France-Presse.
"The players relented from a similar position to give ZC a further three weeks until the end of the month to pay the large sums of money owed them. But they are now simply walking away."
This news comes after an announcement by the ZC board several weeks ago that the ravaged nation would only play limited overs cricket and not Test cricket this year.
The organisation cited financial difficulties as the key reason for the withdrawal from the five day game.
West Indies cricket chief executive Roger Brathwaite, meanwhile, admitted his board is considering cancelling the tour by Zimbabwe in May.
Brathwaite said the board had been seeking alternative opponents but were yet to find anyone available.
In a related move, the players' attorney Beatrice Mtetwa is examining a new ZC proposal for payment.
However, she is still expected to issue a summons against the organisation led by chairman Peter Chingoka.
A summons is likely to trigger a High Court action for payment of more than $US750,000 ($996,677) owed to the players in match fees and salaries going back six months.
