The New Zealand Women’s Emerging Players turned the tables to clinch a thrilling six wicket win over the Australian Under 21 team in the second Twenty20 match.
Australia were restricted to 127 for five but a disciplined bowling line in hot dry conditions at Blacktown Olympic Park in Sydney.
The spin trio of Francis Mackay, Natalie Dodd and Krista Anne Neilson along with with Kate Broadmore’s change of pace made scoring difficult.
Dodd got the chase off to a rollicking start with 34 from 25 deliveries before the Australian’s fought back.
It came down to the final over with New Zealand requiring 10 to win with Erin Bermingham lashing three boundaries in a row to nail the win and square the series one all.
