Women's National Development Tournament: Day 3

Women's National Development Tournament leaders n Wellington had their advantage at the top of the points table cut to a point after holders Canterbury claimed a bonus point win.

At the Bert Sutcliffe Oval, Wellington defeated Northern Districts by three wickets.

Solid contributions from Natalie Dodd 41, Kirbie Samkin 26 and Jeanette Ullyett saw the team through to 213 with 47* off 38 balls.

In reply, ND captured the wicket of the dangerous Lucy Doolan early but a 109-run partnership for the fourth wicket between Hodgson and Bradbury, and an unbroken eighth wicket partnership between Bradbury and Charlotte Mizzie saw Wellington home.

Canterbury also chased a total against Central Districts, reaching 129/8.

Chasing 130 to win Canterbury reached the target in 33.5 overs, with Krista Neilson hitting 76* off 107 balls and Frances McKay, who made an unbeaten 42 not out.

At Lincoln No 3, Otago won the toss and batted against Auckland, making 147/8.

Captain Shannon King top scored with 41 and put on 89 for the third wicket with Jenna Innes (51).

Chasing 150 to win, Auckland reached the target in 36.3 overs to get the bonus point, Kelly Sutherland continuing her fine form with 61 off 118 balls.
