The side includes three players with White Ferns experience – Devine, Candy and Martin.
Convenor of selectors and White Ferns coach Gary Stead said the side is well balanced, with a mix of experienced international players and up and coming talent.
“There are three players who are still at secondary school in this team – all rounders Kate Broadmore and Natalie Dodd, and batsman Maddy Green are exciting young players with great prospects,” he said.
“Green and Allex Evans also have yet to make their debut in first class cricket but have shown their potential in national and regional competitions.”
Stead said Katey Martin has been appointed as captain with an eye to the future. “The selectors are looking to grow potential White Ferns captaincy options for the future and see Katey as a potential candidate for this.”

New selection panel
New Zealand Cricket has also announced the new Women’s Selection Panel for the next two years – which will comprise the White Ferns Coach as Convenor (currently Gary Stead), along with Penny Kinsella and Bruce Blair.
Former international player Penny Kinsella was a member on the previous term for the Women’s selection panel and is retained in the position.
Bruce Blair, former New Zealand international player and Northern Districts coach, joins the selection panel for the first time after spending a year in the Assistant Coach role for the White Ferns.
Stead said it was great to be able to retain Kinsella’s services. “Penny has so much historical knowledge of the players and the game in New Zealand – those skills are important for the panel.
“Having Bruce join the panel brings in fresh eyes and views at the national competition level. His recent experience as Assistant Coach of the White Ferns ensures he has a good understanding of the requirements of international play”.
