White Ferns v Australia stats and milestones

STATISTICS: Milestones and statistics for the first three Twenty20 internationals between the White Ferns and Australia.

Morna Nielsen and Katie Perkins made their debut for the White Ferns becoming the thirty sixth and thirty seventh players to play T20 internationals for the New Zealand Women.   Both made confident debuts with Perkins scoring a quick 32 and helping in two run outs while Nielsen took 2  for 25.

Going into the series the White Ferns had a ten wins to eight advantage with one match being tied. In Australia the results all square with four wins a piece.   Matches between the two countries had mostly been closely fought with only the occasional large victory which is how it panned out in the three matches at North Sydney Stadium.   Unfortunately the results all favoured Australia with a 59 run win in the second match sandwiched between two close results either side.

For the White Ferns Amy Satterthwaite equalled her T20 best when scoring 45 in the third match. She and Liz Perry added a record 47 runs for the fourth wicket against the Australians.  This was followed by a record ninth wicket stand against all countries as Katie Martin and Morna Nielsen added an unbeaten 32 runs.

Frankie Mackay scored a career-best 31 in the first match and followed that up by taking 3 for 18 in the third match, her best bowling figures.

Jess Cameron scored a career best 59 and shared in a record fourth wicket partnership for Australia against the White Ferns of 77 to help the Australians overhaul New Zealand's 145 with just one ball to spare in the first match.

The White Ferns total of 69 and the losing margin of 59 runs in the second match were both the worst for the White Ferns in all T20 internationals.    Lisa Sthalekar was the matchwinner for Australia with a match double of 52 and 3 for 16.   She is the first player to achieve the double of scoring fifty runs and taking three wickets in T20 matches involving New Zealand.

Sthalekar then became the first Australian player to take four wickets in a match against the White Ferns and finshed with the best figures against them by any player as she took 4 for 18 off her four overs in the third match.
