White Ferns and Red Socks perfect match

All this week the White Ferns have been wearing their red socks in recognition of great Kiwi leader Sir Peter Blake.

Tomorrow is the official Red Socks Day. It was the brain child of the Sir Peter Blake Trust who future proofs New Zealand through visionary leadership.

The White Ferns have been snapped training in their red socks, and the bright apparel was even commented on in globally renowned newspaper The Guardian.

The idea to get behind the Red Socks Day was from White Fern Nicola Browne. She attended a leadership day and got the inspiration from there. She hopes the White Ferns can become leaders and hope to make a permanent mark on the sporting world. “The White Ferns are aiming to leave a legacy just like Sir Peter Blake. He left a lasting impression on the world and we want to do the same,” she said.

Sir Peter Blake Trust spokesperson Vicki Watson said it is amazing to see so much support from such a recognisable international sports team. “Tomorrow we will be cheering on the White Ferns when they play against England while wearing red socks,” she said. “The aim of the day is to recognise leaders and the White Ferns can be considered among the best in their chosen field.”
