The White Ferns have arrived in Sydney ahead of their series against the Australian Southern Stars which begins with a Twenty20 match on Friday January 20th at North Sydney Oval.
The tour includes five Twenty20s and three One-Day Internationals over a 15 day period.
In recent times both formats have been used to decide the winner of the Rose Bowl, but it is going back to the original competition where it will be contested for in the 50-over matches only. The Rose Bowl has been a huge part of the women’s cricket landscape since its inception in 1985 with Australia winning in June to be the current holders.
The two best Twenty20 teams in women’s cricket will now compete for the new Trans-Tasman Trophy.
The last two being a part of double headers before the men’s Twenty20 Internationals between Australia and India. The White Ferns and Australian Women’s games will lead in to the Australian Men’s games against India on February first in Sydney and February third in Melbourne.
The rest of the games will be held in various venues around Sydney.
