Wet outfield delays play on Day Three

Posted Saturday, December 13, 2008 in International News

Play has been delayed at the University Oval on day three of the test match between New Zealand and the West Indies due to a wet outfield.

After a meeting between the umpires and captains the decision has been made to take lunch at 1:30pm meaning there won’t be any play before 2:10pm.

Every effort has been made to dry the surface, with a helicopter being called in earlier and the ground-staff working tirelessly.

New Zealand will continue their first inning on 226 for four with Jesse Ryder not out on 54 and Brendon McCullum not out on 4.
