Volts hold advantage

State Northern Knights opener BJ Watling produced his maiden first-class century but State Otago Volts took first-innings points at the University Oval, Dunedin.

Watling made 153 as Northern posted 337 in response to Otago’s 404, with Bradley Scott leading the Otago attack with five for 50. Nic Turner took three for 57.

Otago extended their advantage by 21 at stumps, which came 16.3 overs into the Otago second innings.
