As the BLACKCAPS prepare to take on South Africa in a five match ODI series, has moved up to number six in the ICC one-day bowling ranks after his efforts in the Johnnie Walker Super Series.
Vettori took five wickets in the three matches and impressed with his accuracy and change of pace throughout the three matches.
He is joined in the top 10 by Jacob Oram, while Shane Bond is in 13th spot.
The BLACKCAPS left for South Africa yesterday with the aim of creating history. No New Zealand team has ever been victorious in a one-day series in the Republic.
But the New Zealanders did comprehensively beat the South Africans in the last series played between the two teams. In the 2003/04 home summer, the BLACKCAPS won the series 5-1.
The first match in the ODI series will be played at Bloemfontein on October 23, two days after a Twenty20 match at Johannesburg.
