BLACKCAPS captain Daniel Vettori suffered a knee injury during the ICC Cricket World Cup match against Pakistan at Pallekelle in Sri Lanka.
Vettori’s right knee dug into the ground while attempting to take a catch and had to leave the field for the remainder of the match.
Treatment was administered at the ground and his knee was rested overnight.
Vettori has an appointment tomorrow in Mumbai where his injury will be further investigated and reviewed.
The extent of the injury or best course of action will not be known until after the review process and an update will be sent when additional information comes to hand.
Jesse Ryder who missed yesterdays match with a stomach bug is recovering well and expected to be fit for the next match against Canada on Sunday 13 March.
