Haidee Tiffen’s forceful innings helped State League champion State Canterbury Magicians to 62-run victory over State Central Hinds in Christchurch.
Tiffen hit 92 from 99 balls as Canterbury recorded 250 for four in their first outing of the season. Mandi Godliman supported with 72, with Maria Fahey (32) and Beth McNeil (24) also pitching in.
Sarah Burke took four for 28, including the last three wickets, as Central was dismissed for 188.
