Test rankings - Taylor back in top ten

New Zealand captain Ross Taylor has risen three places in the ICC Test batsmen rankings and once again finds himself in the top 10.

Taylor is currently listed at the tenth best test batsmen in the world, three below his career best of seventh.

His rise in the ratings comes after a solid return from injury saw him average 57 from five innings against South Africa, with two of those Taylor finishing not out.

Unfortunately Taylor was forced to retire hurt in the last Test against the Proteas, but if he had been fit to continue he would have had a great opportunity to get as high as sixth on the ladder, with the next four batsmen all within four points of the 27 year-old.

The next highest New Zealand batsman is Brendon McCullum in 24th.

In the bowling rankings New Zealand has two bowlers in the top twenty, with Chris Martin the best on 14 and Daniel Vettori two places behind in 16th.

Daniel Vettori remains in the top five all-rounders in the world in fifth.
