BLACKCAPS middle order batsmen Ross Taylor and Scott Styris, along with strike bowlers Tim Southee and Shane Bond are the big movers in the latest ICC ODI Player Rankings.
The 177 runs in the Chappell/Hadlee series sees Taylor jump four places to 18th position and overtake Brendon McCullum by one place to be New Zealand’s highest ranked batsmen.
The other BLACKCAPS batsman to jump up the ladder was Scott Styris, who was the highest run scorer in the series with 199 runs. His performances move him up three places to 37th position.
Tim Southee’s six wickets in the series, including 4-36 in the final match of the series in Wellington, has seen leap15 places to a career-best 38th position.
Fast bowler Shane Bond, who bagged nine wickets against the tourists, has swapped places with fellow BLACKCAP Kyle Mills who missed the series with shoulder and knee injuries. A player misses one percent of his ratings for every match he misses, and as such, fifth-placed Bond has taken a 17-point lead over Mills.
The number one bowling spot still belongs to Daniel Vettori with the BLACKAPS captain also occupying second position in the ODI all rounder rankings.
