St Andrew’s College elected to bat after winning their toss against Hutt international Boys’ High School.

Despite losing a few quick wickets, St. Andrew’s found themselves in a good position thanks to Rhys Mariu hitting 55 runs and Jesse Frew supporting well with 24.

This allowed St. Andrew’s to push for a competitive score during their 40 overs.

However, Hutt International Boys’ School managed to finish the innings off with tight bowling to restrict St. Andrew’s College to a still competitive 147/8.

Charlie Wilson had a great day with the ball picking up 4/30 and Liam Ferrier bowling well also with 2/20.

Hutt International struggled to establish meaning partnerships throughout their innings and, despite a good stand by Kahurangi Gray (26), they fell 65 runs short of their total.

Harrison Darling ended with exceptional figures of 3/3 and also Etienne Harrington-Watt took figures of 3/8, both guiding St. Andrew’s College to their first win of the tournament.
