BLACKCAP fast bowler Tim Southee has signed with Essex for their 2011 Friends LifeT20 campaign.
Southee will join fellow BLACKCAP and Chennai Super King member Scott Styris at the conclusion of the IPL.
“I’m really looking forward to playing with a new group of guys and experiencing the Twenty20 comp in the UK,” said Southee.
“The IPL is a great experience but I haven't played all the games. I’m am still training hard and will be going to Essex after focussing on Twenty20 for the last month and a half so I guess it has been a good build up.”
Southee will join up with the Essex squad for the first Friends Life t20 fixture against Gloucestershire Gladiators on Friday 3rd June
