Rolls dents Spirit hopes

Rebecca Rolls posted her fourth State League century to put a dent in State Northern Spirit’s hopes of reaching the final.

The veteran State Auckland Hearts wicketkeeper made 108 at Manurewa’s Weymouth Park to set up a 48-run win.

Youngster Katie Perkins contributed 37 as Auckland made 240 from 49.1 overs.

Spirit captain Nicola Browne made 54 and Megan Murphy 44, but Megan Tremaine’s four for 22 helped her team wrap up the victory with 24 deliveries in hand.
