Heavy rain in Dambulla has forced the One-Day International tri-series match between the BLACKCAPS and Sri Lanka into tomorrow’s reserve day.
Rain fell shortly after Ross Taylor won the toss with the officials abandoning play for the day after four hours without a ball being bowled.
Play is set to start at 2:30pm (9:00pm NZ time) with the toss to be retaken and the teams allowed to reselect their starting XI.
Martin Guptill was not named in the original team after suffering an injury in the lead up to the match but may be considered again if fit.
The BLACKCAPS beat India by 200 runs in their first match before losing to Sri Lanka by five wickets in their second. However, with each team recording one win and one loss they still top the points table courtesy of their superior net run rate.
