Heavy overnight rain and a morning downpour have delayed play at the University Oval in Dunedin between New Zealand and the West Indies.
The umpires decided to call and early lunch and will inspect the ground at 2:00pm.
The covers have come off and play is expected this afternoon as the ground staff work on preparing the wet outfield for play.
New Zealand will continue their first inning on 226 for four with Jesse Ryder not out on 54 and Brendon McCullum not out on 4.
