Proteas make changes

South Africa has announced a fresh-faced squad for the Twenty/20 international against Australia at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on Thursday.

Six members from the team which played the final match of the VB series in Hobart are missing, as the Proteas look to keep their players fresh ahead of the five one-day internationals and three Tests.

"We have decided to rest certain players and to select a different combination for the 20-overs game," convenor of selectors, Haroon Lorgat, said.

Batsman Loots Bosman and off-spinner Thandi Tshabalala are among the new faces while fast bowler Makhaya Ntini is back from an absence caused by as knee injury.

Shaun Pollock and Mark Boucher are among those rested from the Twenty/20 match but both have been named in the squad for the first three one-day matches.

One-day squad: Graeme Smith (c), Mark Boucher, AB de Villiers, Boeta Dippenaar, Herschelle Gibbs, Andrew Hall, Justin Kemp, Charl Langeveldt, Andre Nel, Makhaya Ntini, Robin Peterson, Shaun Pollock, Ashwell Prince, Johan van der Wath.
