New Zealand Cricket today announced the squad to take part in the annual Hong Kong Cricket Sixes tournament at Kowloon Cricket Club.
The event starts on Friday 28 October with the final played on the afternoon of Sunday 30 October 2011.
The teams will be pooled into three groups of four for the expanded 12-team tournament, up from eight teams previously.
New Zealand is in Pool A alongside Sri Lanka, Scotland and the top seeded All Stars selection. Pool B is headed by defending Hong Kong Cricket Sixes champions Australia, followed by England, Bangladesh and Ireland. Pool C sees last year’s runners-up Pakistan grouped with South Africa, India and the hosts, Hong Kong.

Captain Jacob Oram said: “We have put together a competitive squad and go into the tournament with high hopes of winning.
“A number of players have international experience but we also have a couple of young guys who will be representing their country for the first time.
“As shown in the HRV Cup, Kieran Noema-Barnett is one of the most destructive batsmen in the country so this format will certainly suit him. Derek de Boorder is a talented keeper who has the speed and agility needed to for this challenging format.
“The rest of the line up are good all-rounders and I’m confident we have the squad to win the tournament.”
