Former BLACKCAPS players Jacob Oram and Matthew Bell will join the White Ferns for their tour to the West Indies in September.
The duo will act as assistant coaches, beginning this weekend when they link up with the White Ferns training squad for a camp in Lincoln.
Bell has previously worked with the Wellington Cricket Academy, coached representative Wellington age-group teams and also has experience as a personal trainer. His main role will be as a batting coach, as well as having some focus on strength and conditioning.
The tour will provide Oram, who has been working with Central Districts, with a great opportunity to continue his coaching development and his primary focus will be on the side’s bowling and fielding.
White Ferns Coach Hamish Barton said he was thrilled to have Bell and Oram on board.
“With so much knowledge of the game, we’re really excited to have Matt and Jacob working with us and I know the team will feed off it too,” said Barton.
“This group can learn a huge amount from their experience and we’re just pleased to have two guys of such a high quality involved as we prepare for the West Indies.”
