New Zealand were 145 for two in reply to the West Indies first innings of 307 at stumps on day two of the second cricket test at McLean Park here today.
Opener Tim McIntosh was on 62 -- his maiden test fifty -- and Ross Taylor was not out four when bad light forced the players from the field a second and final time four overs ahead of the scheduled close.
McIntosh and Daniel Flynn, 57, added 118 for the second wicket before Fidel Edwards removed Flynn to claim his 100th test wicket.
He ended with figures of two for 26 from 13 overs.
Earlier, the West Indies progressed from 258 for six to 307 all out.
Overnight centurion Shivnarine Chanderpaul was stranded on 126 not out when right arm fast bowler Iain O'Brien removed Edwards for a duck -- the final scalp of his test-best haul of six for 75.
