Heavy overnight rain and regular showers throughout the day has forced play to be called off in the second day of the first match between New Zealand and the West Indies at the University Oval in Dunedin.
The umpires had hoped to get play started this afternoon but a more rain and a wet out field forced the days play to be abandoned.
Play is scheduled to begin 30 minutes earlier at 11:30am on day three to make up on some of the overs that has been lost due to the weather.
New Zealand, after winning the toss, will continue their first inning on 226 for four with Jesse Ryder not out on 54 and Brendon McCullum not out on 4.
