Who will be the top primary school girls' team in the country?

New Zealand Post Shield Finals begin today

The search for the top primary school girls' cricket team in the country is on with New Zealand Post Shield Finals underway today at the New Zealand Cricket High Performance Centre in Lincoln University.

It's the first year the tournament is being held at the New Zealand Cricket High Performance Centre, with the superb facilities of Bert Sutcliffe Oval, Lincoln Green and Lincoln No. 3 Ground all being used for the tournament.

The six teams in the Finals are winners from the six regional qualification rounds across New Zealand.

Otago Arrowtown Primary School

The tournament format is a full round robin, each team playing two games today (Thursday 26th) and tomorrow (Friday 27th), and one final game on Saturday 28th. The team that finishes top of the table after the five games will be crowned the New Zealand Post Shield champions for 2015.

The tournament will start with Arrowtown Primary School playing Havelock North Intermediate on Bert Sutcliffe Oval, Tauranga Intermediate versus Raroa Normal Intermediate School on Lincoln No. 3 Ground, and Heaton Normal Intermediate taking on Belmont Intermediate at Lincoln Green.
