Nathan McCullum suffers illness

New Zealand Cricket today announced that Nathan McCullum has been admitted to hospital following an illness picked up on the BLACKCAPS World Cup campaign in India.

McCullum reported to medical staff that he felt unwell late yesterday and it was discovered that he had a high temperature so was taken to the local hospital in Chennai where he spent the night.

Although McCullum is improving and feeling better he remains in hospital under observation and is expected to be discharged tomorrow morning (local time).

It is unclear whether McCullum will be available for the opening World Cup match against Kenya on Sunday with a decision made closer to the start of the match.
