Although 2000 public tickets have already been sold Canterbury Cricket announced today the release of extra tickets to the South Africa vs. Wizards International Twenty20 match.
Initially, due to the configuration of the ground set up, only 2000 tickets were available. A reconfiguration of the ground has allowed another 1000 tickets to be released for sale from today.
Lee Germon, CEO of Canterbury Cricket, stated that the success of the recent Twenty20 double header at Hagley Oval resulted in a rethink of the ground set up for the South African match. ‘We saw and heard how the spectators at the double header enjoyed being able to bring their blankets and deck chairs and therefore we have decided to dispense with 1000 grandstand seats and open up the grass area.’
‘This will enable more people to enjoy the match in an enjoyable, relaxed fashion.’ Germon encouraged people to once again get in quickly to snap up the released tickets at the special pre-sale prices.
