England's injury woes have continued with all-rounder Andrew Flintoff joining his team's growing casualty list.
Flintoff, who has led the team in the absence of Michael Vaughan, is in doubt for England's one-day series against Sri Lanka due to an ankle injury.
England is also sweating on the fitness of batsman Kevin Pietersen, who needed a pain-killing injection to be able to bat in the second innings after tearing his left hamstring in his team's loss to Sri Lanka.
However, Vaughan has been given a chance of playing in the one-day series, but he is unlikely to take part in all five matches.
Should Flintoff and Vaughan both be unavailable, opener Andrew Strauss will lead the team.
The all-rounder said he struggled through the Test and experienced soreness in his ankle.
"The film has gone to the specialist so, with respect to the NatWest Series or anything, there are no decisions," Flintoff told BBC Sport.
"They've found these fragments - whether they've been around a long time or are a new thing, I'm not sure."
"It has a history of dying down but I don't know where I am right now with it."
While Flintoff battles his injury problem, the news is better for paceman Steve Harmison, who is expected to be named in the England squad after overcoming a shin injury.
England has struggled since beating Australia last year with Ashes heroes Flintoff, Simon Jones (knee), Ashley Giles (hip/hernia), Vaughan (knee) and Harmison all battling injury.
