New Zealand has confirmed that Wellington Firebird’s fast bowler Andy McKay will replace Kyle Mills for the remainder of the ICC Cricket World Cup.
Mills has been struggling with a quad strain and although there has been some improvement it is not enough for him to return to full fitness before the semi final on 29 March.
New Zealand Cricket approached the ICC technical committee for approval to nominate McKay as a replacement for Mills in the 15-man squad with permission issued yesterday.
McKay will join the squad in Colombo on Sunday 27 March.
