Matt Henry & Ross Taylor's UK duel

BLACKCAPS senior statesman Ross Taylor and rising star Matt Henry found themselves in the middle of a tense battle for their counties on the final day of their division two clash at New Road mid week.

Taylor made a patient 62 for Sussex, who were batting to save the match after being forced to follow on, while Henry was proving the destroyer for his side Worcestershire.

Henry claimed four wickets in the second innings, including bowling Taylor as his side pushed for a result on the fourth day, to no avail.

Elsewhere Derbyshire’s Otago connection of Hamish Rutherford and Neil Broom were in the runs against Essex; Rutherford notching 68 and 49 while Broom made 32 and was 2 not out when the match was declared a draw.

The ageless Hamish Marshall scored an important second innings half century to set up victory for his county Gloucestershire.
