“In think he’s got some back problem. He got a spasm in his back. He went for and MRI and I think it’s OK now.”
On when the injury occurred for Dhoni…
Last night.
On when he found out about taking over as captain…
“I found out this morning. They talked to me yesterday and told me that maybe he’ll not be fit.”
On the day in the pitch…

On having problems with the fielding today…

“No, I don’t think so. Sometimes you take a catch, sometimes you drop a catch and that happens in test matches. So we have to improve our fielding - especially with the catching.”
On the overall bowling and fielding effort…
“I think it’s tough out there for bowlers. It’s not easy to bowl on one line or length because the ball is coming onto the bat. It’s a good outfield, a fast outfield and when the batsmen play their shots and the ball goes into the gap it is very difficult to set the field. Ross Taylor and Jesse Ryder played really well. With the partnership of 250 it was very difficult to stop their runs. I think Harbhajan really bowled well but there is nothing for fast bowlers – just bounce and it’s good for batsmen with the ball coming nicely.”
On having the BLACKCAPS 23 for three…
“We knew it was a good track and someone would get runs. I think if we took that catch, Taylors catch, it would be 25 for four but we missed our chances and he scored runs.”
On being frustrated by Taylors innings…
“The one good thing about his batting was that he was playing his shots and it is very hard to stop it. When someone is playing their shots it is very difficult to set the field and stop his runs.“
