INTERVIEW: Tim McIntosh

Tim McIntosh
The BLACKCAPS opening batsmen talks about this innings of 89, the strong position and running between the wickets.

On his performance today….

A bit disappointing not to get the three figures but happy to contribute and I think going some way for us to win tomorrow.

On being involved in three run outs…

You think it might come back to you when you have been involved in all three. I think its just part of the game and it was unfortunate that seemed to happen today.

I don’t know if you can directly blame anyone for it actually, they were all pretty close calls and they were good direct hit throws as well. But its something I guess comes in a bit of time and when you bat with someone a bit longer so I’m sure we will be better for it next time.

On Martin Guptill…

I wondered who was going to be dismissed and I had a second thought that my bat might have come up a bit. I might have done him a favour there I guess without knowing it. Im happy to contribute in the way I did.

On his form…

Its feeling pretty good, I have been working on a few things and timing the ball pretty well, its going pretty good so hopefully it continues.

On a great afternoon picking up five wickets…

Some great bowling there, I now our bowlers are really happy coming off our last effort so we have improved there I think. If we can continue that tomorrow we should get a win.

On the strange dismissal of Junaid Siddique…

It was bizarre. The line was perfect from where we were looking behind the stumps and it just looked like in the end its was going to hit the stumps but for it to hit the top of the bail was something pretty uncommon but very satisfying for us.
