INTERVIEW: Peter Ingram talks at the end of day one

Peter Ingram
Peter Ingram talks about his first Test innings, the conditions and feeling in the team after day one.

On his Test debut...

You are never satisfied and always want more runs. Happy with the way I played until the shot I played when I got out. A bad decision and bad execution.

Sometimes bad decisions happen and that’s cricket. Keep working on it, keep working hard and try and make a better decision next time.

On the feeling in the team after day one...

Positive. We talked about more guys need to go on and hopefully the boys will do that tomorrow and put Bangladesh under some pressure.

On his preparation before his debut...

The old heart had a bit of a flutter then I just went about doing my thing, a few deep breaths and go through my routines and I was fine after that. First ball was nice.

On playing an International Test match for his country...

It’s fantastic, my wife will be at home and the little boys will be at home watching on television. Great times.

On his batting performance...

I felt like I hit balls that were there to be hit and played well until I made a bad decision and I got out.

On the pitch...

Nice easy pace, good to bat on, so gutted I threw it away really.
