INTERVIEW: Dave Currie gives us an injury update

Dave Currie
The BLACKCAPS manager gives up an injury update on Jesse Ryder, Daniel Vettori, James Franklin and Ross Taylor.

Jesse Ryder
“Jesse clearly hasn’t been well for the last couple of days and came right a few days ago but has deteriorated quite a lot over the last 48 hours to the point today where he was really uncomfortable. In fact has been admitted to hospital overnight so further tests can be made and hopefully within the next 24 hours get some idea of what’s happening.  We just need to make sure he is well and that is the best thing to do at this stage.”

Daniel Vettori
“Dan’s shoulder had received treatment and looks like it’s coming right and we hope to have him back playing within the next couple of days.”

James Franklin
“James we’re fortunate had a twinge in his knee, had a scan on that and that proved not to be any great damage at all so fully expect him to be right and play throughout the Super Eight.”

Ross Taylor
“Ross as you would have seen in the game tonight pulled up with a hamstring twinge and will receive treatment over the next little while but we’re not going to know in the next three or four days really how long it will be before he is back to full fitness.”
