Michael Parlane’s century helped State Wellington Firebirds to a four-wicket victory over State Central Stags at the Basin Reserve.
The captain posted 132 as Wellington wrapped up a successful run chase in 42 overs, in reply to CD’s 253 for seven.
Stags captain Jamie How fell seven runs short of a century, while Greg Hay and Bevan Griggs also made half-centuries after sharing a 70-run sixth-wicket stand.
Parlane and fellow opener Sam Fairley (28) enjoyed a century first-wicket partnership, and victory was in sight by the time the skipper lost his wicket to Ewen Thompson in the 39th over.
Brendon Diamanti recorded match-leading bowling figures in defeat, taking four for 51.
Wellington now travel to Invercargill to take on State Otago Volts, where victory would assure them home field advantage in the final.
