A big-hitting innings from Sara McGlashan and a prolific spell from Kelly Winkley helped State Central Hinds to a six-wicket win over State Otago Sparks in Dunedin to open the State League season.
Winkley took four wickets for 27 runs as Otago were kept to 145 all out. Suzie Bates top scored in the match with 39.
Rachel Priest (34) and Nicole Thessman (30) rallied as Central reached their target within 41 overs.
But it was McGlashan’s innings which stole the show, the White Fern (pictured) hitting 28 including three fours and a big six to take the points at the University Oval.
