Guptill in the runs for Mumbai

BLACKCAPS star Martin Guptill’s announced himself in the IPL, scoring 48 runs at the top of the Mumbai Indians order to set up victory over the Delhi Daredevils.

The swashbuckling Kiwi opener has had limited opportunities in the tournament to date, but he made his second chance count after Mumbai won the toss and elected to bat.

Guptill struck three sixes and a four, eventually departing with his side well placed at 144 for two in the 15th over.

Mumbai finished on 206/4 which proved too much for Delhi who were dismissed for 126.

Fellow BLACKCAP and tournament leading wicket taker Mitchell McClenaghan helped to put the squeeze on conceding just 26 runs from his four overs.

The victory sees Mumbai keep pace with the leaders in a three way tie for second on 14 points with Kane Williamson’s SunRisers Hyderabad two points clear at the top.

Tonight’s clash sees the red hot AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli back in action for the Dan Vettori coached Bangalore who take on the Knight Riders in Kolkata.
