BLACKCAPS allrounder Grant Elliott was playing in the Pakistan Super League in February when he won the Halberg Award for the Radio Sport Sporting Moment of the Year - on the back of his ICC World Cup semi-final heroics against South Africa at Eden Park.
However, Halberg Disability Sports Foundation chief executive Shelley McMeeken and Halberg executive member Kerry Clark caught up with Elliott today during a SportNZ conference in Wellington to present him with his gong.
Elliott's award, the only category voted on by the public at this year's Halbergs, was judged from a shortlist which included feats from Richie McCaw, Lydia Ko, Ross Taylor, the All Blacks, the Warriors, the Breakers, the Kiwis, the Highlanders and the Football Ferns.
