Adam Gilchrist has been fined 40 per cent of his match fee for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during Australia's match against South Africa in game two of the VB Series.

Gilchrist pleaded guilty to showing dissent during the match in a hearing in Adelaide on Wednesday conducted by ICC Match Referee Jeff Crowe for breaching 1.3 of the ICC Code which relates to “showing dissent at an umpire’s decision by action or verbal abuse”.
"Adam immediately pleaded guilty to the charge, understanding the need to end this sort of action on the field during play," Mr. Crowe said.
All Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand and a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of a player’s match fee.
The charge was brought by the on-field umpires Simon Taufel and Aleem Dar and TV umpire Daryl Harper.
Jeff Crowe reached his conclusion after a hearing attended by Gilchrist, Australian team manager Steve Bernard and umpires Dar and Harper on Wednesday.
Gilchrist, refreshed after a two-match break from the VB Series, takes over the captaincy from Ricky Ponting for Australia's sold-out match against Sri Lanka at Adelaide Oval on Thursday and said he was 'looking forward' to taking over the reins.
"I've done it at reasonably regular intervals over my career, so it's nothing too new," he said. "As I've always said, it's a matter of just keeping the ship pointing in the right direction until Ricky comes back."
