Thursday, 12 January 2012Domestic Twenty20 action hits Hagley Oval this Sunday, 15th January for free! The Canterbury Wizards and Magicians are set to ignite the Oval with some fast paced, big hitting Twenty20 cricket.
The Canterbury Magicians have had an absolutely outstanding summer and have qualified top of the Action Cricket Twenty20 table. They will be taking on the Auckland Hearts in the final, first ball bowled at 10:00am. Come down and see your favourite players Frankie Mackay, Rachel Candy and our captain Amy Satterthwaite defend their title as the best women’s Twenty20 side in New Zealand!
Then at 2:00pm the Canterbury Wizards will face off against the Wellington Firebirds in round 9 of the exciting HRV Cup competition. Coming off some close victories the Wizards are currently second in the competition so a place in the final is on the line for our boys. Get to the oval early and reserve the best spot to see Canterbury’s Rob Nicol, Dean Brownlie and big hitter Brendon Diamanti take it to Wellington’s overseas player Brendon Taylor and Captain Grant Elliot.
Both of these matches are free entry as Canterbury Cricket works to support the efforts of the Christchurch City Council to get people back into the central city. So get to the ground early for the best spot to see Canterbury’s best male and female cricketers stamp their mark on cricket in this country.
Parking is available off Deans Ave, entry just before the Sale Yards round about, for just $5.00 per car.
