Posted Monday, April 26, 2010 in International News

A superb 133 by BLACKCAPS all rounder James Franklin helped county side Gloucestershire to a 51 run win in the Clydesdale Bank 40 competition yesterday.

Promoted to opener, Franklin entertained the home crowd in his 121-ball knock studded with ten boundaries and three sixes.

Speaking to www.gloscricket.co.uk Franklin said, "John Bracewell discussed the possibility of me opening when I arrived for this season and it certainly paid off in this game. But there is a long season ahead and I want to keep making runs for the team.”

It was Franklin’s maiden One-Day ton, surpassing his previous best of 87*.
