After regular inclusion in the BLACKCAPS playing eleven, James Franklin and Hamish Bennett, have earned themselves an elevated New Zealand Cricket contract.
Under the terms of the new Master Agreement between NZC and the NZCPA, a player who is not centrally contracted but who then plays enough games for the BLACKCAPS is offered an elevated central contract.
Points are allocated for being in the playing XI for various forms of the game and once enough points are accumulated, the elevated contract is triggered.
Franklin and Bennett will receive his NZC contract through to the end of the current contracting period, July 31, 2011.
