New Zealand Cricket recently hosted two cricket pitch preparation field days at Hagley Oval and Fitzherbert Park.
Over 100 Turf Managers, Contactors, Suppliers, and Administrator’s attended, allowing opportunity for staff to engage & build connections with counterparts from across Aotearoa.
Attendees took a deep dive into the ins and outs of cricket pitch preparation.
This included presentations from Ash Head (Hagley Oval) on test pitch preparation and Andy May (Fitzherbert Park) on first class and club pitch preparations.
Break out groups were led by International Curators - Blair Christiansen, Karl (KJ) Johnson and Jared Carter on the arts of Rolling, as well as Moisture Management and Maintaining grass cover to produce quality cricket surfaces.
