The upcoming Test series against England continues to set box-office records, with the Cello Basin Reserve likely to be the first of the three venues to sell out.
Tickets for the second Test in Wellington are in short supply, with the second day’s play already sold out, and the first and third rapidly heading in the same direction.
The appetite for tickets for the opening Test at Hagley Oval, starting on November 28, has been similarly keen, and there has also been healthy interest demonstrated in the third Test – at Seddon Park.

Of particular note is that 38 percent of all ticket sales have been purchased by overseas fans, the vast majority of which have been for the England Test series.
NZC’s Marketing and Communications GM Stacey Geraghty said the ticket sales reflected unprecedented interest in the Tests.
“The writing was on the wall when the tour was first announced – the interest even then was massive,” said Ms Geraghty.
“We sold a huge number of tickets when we first opened up for Cricket Nation members last month and, since they were made available for the general public on Tuesday, demand has just grown.
“Our message to fans wanting to attend any of these Tests is to get in as quickly as possible to avoid disappointment.”
Fans can purchase adult tickets at 15 percent discount by joining NZC’s free members club, Cricket Nation.
Note: Day five Test tickets are only released if required at the end of the fourth day.
