England defeat Bangladesh

England recorded an unconvincing four-wicket win over Bangladesh at Bridgetown.

Michael Vaughan’s side kept their faint ICC World Cup semi-final hopes alive after overhauling the Tigers’ modest 143 in 44 overs.

England’s Monty Panesar and Sajid Mahmood claimed three wickets each, with Saqibul Hasan claiming an unbeaten 57 for Bangladesh.

Veteran duo Paul Collingwood and Paul Nixon ushered their side to a victory, with a stand of 37, after a two-wicket maiden over from left-arm spinner Mohammad Rafique leaving the English on 110 for six.
