The New Zealand Emerging Players have amassed 321 for seven on day one of their two day match against the England Lions at Burt Sutcliffe Oval in Lincoln.
An opening stand of 101 between captain Tim McIntosh and Josh Brodie got the home side off to a solid start.
Left-handed Brodie went on to reach 124 and put the Emerging players into a strong position.
A number of the other batman got starts but were unable to kick on as the Lion’s picked up regular wickets.
Medium-pacer Jonathan Trott was the pick of the attack taking three for 31 with all-rounder Luke Wright picking up two for 56.
Brandon Hiini (9) and Te Ahu Davies (26) were not-out at the end of play.
